A solution methodology for exact design space exploration in a three-dimensional design space
نویسندگان
چکیده
| This paper describes an exact solution methodology, implemented in Rensselaer's Voyager design space exploration system, for solving the scheduling problem in a 3dimensional (3D) design space: the usual 2D design space (which trades o area and schedule length), plus a third dimension representing clock length. Unlike design space exploration methodologies which rely on bounds or estimates, this methodology is guaranteed to nd the globally optimal solution to a 3D scheduling problem. Furthermore, this methodology e ciently prunes the search space, eliminating provably inferior design points through: (1) a careful selection of candidate clock lengths, and (2) tight bounds on the number of functional units or on the schedule length. Both chaining and multi-cycle operations are supported.

متن کاملThrust - Limited Optimal Three - Dimensional Spacecraft Trajectories
Several optimal three-dimensional orbital transfer problems are solved for thrust-limited spacecrafts using collocation and nonlinear programming techniques. The solutions for full nonlinear equations of motion are obtained where the integrals of the free Keplerian motion in three dimensions are utilized for coasting arcs. In order to limit the solution space, interior-point constraints are use...
متن کاملSpace as a Semiotic Object: A Three-Dimensional Model of Vertical Structure of Space in Calvino’s Invisible Cities
Following the “spatial turn” of the last 3 decades in humanities and social sciences and the structure of semiotic object, this research studies space as the main semiotic object of Calvino’s (1972) Invisible Cities. Significance of this application resides in examining the possibility of providing a more concrete methodology based on the integration of Zoran’s (1984) 3 vertical levels of const...
متن کاملOPTIMAL DESIGN OF STEEL MOMENT FRAME STRUCTURES USING THE GA-BASED REDUCED SEARCH SPACE (GA-RSS) TECHNIQUE
This paper proposes a GA-based reduced search space technique (GA-RSS) for the optimal design of steel moment frames. It tries to reduce the computation time by focusing the search around the boundaries of the constraints, using a ranking-based constraint handling to enhance the efficiency of the algorithm. This attempt to reduce the search space is due to the fact that in most optimization pro...
